2 and a half weeks!

Oh my word, ish just got real. I am leaving in two and a half weeks. It didn't really hit me that I was going until the day they stuck 6 needles into my arm. The nurse showed me a map of the world where all the diseases are and straight up Africa has all of them. #death. If I can survive all of those shots they gave me well bring it on Uganda. I am so excited I just want to leave already. Seriously, I can hardly focus on anything. All I do everyday is listen to the Lion King and Waka Waka over and over. Get me out of Logan already!
Now I would not be going if it wasn't for my friends and family helping me get there. I can't even begin to express how grateful I am for all of the help and support. You know who you are and how you have helped me, so thank you. I'd like to give a big THANK YOU to my moms 3rd grade class. They have donated over 30+ pairs of reading glasses and I can't wait to show her class pictures of kids with their glasses on. It's incredible to hear about these 9 year olds in Littleton, CO are so excited about helping children in Uganda.
Well one more week of school, an extra week of work and I am out of here. Thank you again, I am so blessed with amazing friends and family.

Well, I caved. I facebook, I tweet, I pin on pinterest and now I am Blogger. Last step is instagram but I'm already instafamous with out an instagram so no hurry for that one. #kelliisinstafamous look me up yo! I'd like to thank my very intelligent friend Miss Maddie Wardle helping me set this up. I have no idea how often I will blog, but I will start once I head off to my adventure in Uganda, Africa. If most of you don't know I am studying FCHD at Utah State University but want to go on and be a social worker. I am in my junior year of college and it's the year everyone is deciding to go on a semester broad, a mission, or get married. I was looking into a semester broad but if you know me at all I would go to Europe and be the kid that leaves the group to go exploring and end up getting lost. I wouldn't study and I probably wouldn't come home. So I figured I needed to do something along the lines of my major. I have been looking for a service trip for the past year. I was thinking about going with Help International or a few other organizations but I wasn't feeling great about any of the options. Finally this semester my good friend Kami Montgomery started telling me about this organization called SEEME. The second she told me about it, I knew I had to go with her. Within one week I had my passport renewed and ticket bought. I will be traveling with Kami and the SEEME group to Uganda. We will be working in orphanages, building playgrounds, volunteering in schools and helping the people as much as we can. I will be gone from May 14th to June 6th. I feel beyond blessed and can not wait to put all my energy into helping the people of Uganda.
